Mixing and transport

Mixing in the Intermediate Field of Dense Jets in Cross Currents

This study presents an experimental and numerical study for an inclined (60$^o$ to horizontal) dense jet discharged into a coflowing current. The mixing and transport of the density current arising from the jet impingement on a horizontal bottom boundary is investigated.

Initial mixing of inclined dense jet in perpendicular crossflow

A comprehensive experimental investigation for an inclined (60$^o$ to vertical) dense jet in perpendicular crossflow—with a three-dimensional trajectory—is reported.

Mixing of inclined dense jets in stationary ambient

This paper reports results of a comprehensive experimental investigation of inclined round dense jets in an otherwise stagnant fluid. The tracer concentration field is measured for six jet discharge angles $\\theta\_{0} = (15^o, 30^o, 38^o, 45^o, 52^o, \\& 60^o) $ and jet densimetric Froude number of $F\_{r}$ = 10 – 40 using the planar laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) technique; selected jet velocity measurements are made using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV).
